Bringing 81 years of Indian history to life through a premium coffee table book featuring archival headlines, photographs and defining moments from The Times of India.
The project involved presenting historical content from The Times of India’s archives, spanning 1940 to 2021, in a limited-edition coffee table book for DBS Bank.
The challenge was to organise decades of newspaper headlines, photographs and significant events into a cohesive publication while preserving the authenticity of the original material. The book needed to balance historical detail with contemporary editorial design, giving each era its own character without compromising readability.
Working with agency partner Taatparya Design Consulting, we developed the editorial design and visual presentation of the coffee table book.
We created flexible page layouts and typography treatments that reflected different periods in the publication’s history. Archival photographs and newspaper clippings were carefully restored and refined to improve their reproduction quality while retaining their original appearance.
Key historical moments were presented through prominent visual spreads, supported by a consistent editorial structure that brought together headlines, photography and contextual information.
The overall approach focused on preserving the historical character of the archives while delivering a polished, premium publication.

The completed coffee table book brought together 81 years of historical headlines, photographs and significant events in a carefully designed publication.
Produced as a premium historical collection, the book was presented to distinguished personalities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sachin Tendulkar.
The project demonstrated our ability to handle extensive archival material, detailed editorial layouts and high-quality print artwork for a publication of national significance.
